Global Citizenship and Courageous Advocacy
At St Bartholomew’s, we want our children to develop a deep understanding of the world around them and recognise that they can make a positive difference locally, nationally and globally. Guided by our vision, “Follow Jesus in all we do,” we encourage pupils to become thoughtful global citizens who demonstrate compassion, respect and responsibility.
We are proud to be an accredited Global Citizen School, recognising our commitment to helping children understand global issues, celebrate diversity and take action to improve the world around them. Through Religious Education, collective worship, Picture News, spirituality, curriculum learning and pupil leadership opportunities, children are encouraged to explore different cultures, faiths and worldviews whilst developing empathy and respect for others.
Our children learn that being a global citizen means caring for the environment, valuing diversity, standing up for fairness and working together to create positive change. Through learning about local, national and global issues, they develop the confidence to ask questions, think critically and consider how their actions can impact others.

At St Bartholomew’s, we believe that every person is valued, loved and created in the image of God. As part of being a Global Citizen School, we encourage children to understand the world around them, celebrate diversity and recognise the importance of equality, inclusion and justice.
Through worship, Religious Education, Picture News and pupil leadership opportunities, children explore local, national and global issues and learn how they can make a positive difference. We encourage our pupils to be courageous advocates who speak up for others, challenge injustice and put their faith into action.
By supporting charitable causes, caring for the environment and serving our community, our children learn that even small actions can help create a fairer, kinder and more inclusive world.
Living Out Our Values
Our commitment to courageous advocacy is demonstrated through the many charitable and community projects we support throughout the year. Children help raise awareness and funds for local, national and international charities, putting our Christian values of Love, Service, Justice and Friendship into action. These experiences help children understand the importance of helping others and making a positive contribution to society.
