Worship at St Bartholomew’s
Worship is at the heart of life at St Bartholomew’s and is central to our vision, “Follow Jesus in all we do.” Through daily worship, children are encouraged to explore faith, reflect on Christian values and consider how the teachings of Jesus can guide their actions, relationships and choices.
Worship provides opportunities for prayer, reflection, discussion and celebration. Children learn about the Christian faith while developing respect for people of all faiths and worldviews. Through Bible stories, current events and inspirational role models, they are encouraged to think deeply, show compassion, seek justice and make a positive difference in the world around them.
Our close partnership with St Bartholomew’s Church enriches worship and helps children feel part of a wider Christian community. Through worship, we remind every child that they are loved, valued and unique, helping them to develop confidence, belonging and a strong sense of identity.
Our Weekly Worship Pattern
Monday – Whole School Worship
Led by senior leaders, we introduce the weekly theme, often linked to our Christian values, the Christian calendar and our vision.
Tuesday – Picture News and Reflection
Children explore current events and discuss how Christian values can help us respond to issues in the wider world.
Wednesday – Sung Praise
A joyful opportunity to worship through music, celebrate faith and reflect on the week's theme.
Thursday – Class Reflection
Children engage in discussion, prayer and reflection, considering how worship themes connect to their own lives.
Friday – Celebration Worship
We come together to celebrate achievements, recognise children who have demonstrated our Christian values and share successes from both in and outside school.
Through worship, we encourage every child to grow spiritually, live out our Christian values and flourish as part of the St Bart’s family.
