Ethos Team
At St Bartholomew’s, our Junior Ethos Team helps lead and promote the Christian life of our school. Guided by our vision, “Follow Jesus in all we do,” the team supports worship, prayer, spirituality, leadership and service, helping all members of our school community to flourish.
Who Are the Junior Ethos Team?
Our Year 6 Ethos Leaders lead the team and act as ambassadors for our Christian vision and values across the school. They are supported by two representatives from every class, ensuring that all pupils have a voice in shaping the spiritual life of St Bart’s.
Together, the team meets regularly to discuss ideas, gather pupil views and help develop the distinctive Christian character of our school.
What Does the Junior Ethos Team Do?
Lead Collective Worship
Team members help to plan, lead and evaluate worship, sharing prayers, Bible readings, reflections and activities that encourage our school community to think deeply about faith, values and how we can follow Jesus in our daily lives.
Promote Prayer and Spirituality
The team helps develop prayer and reflection spaces, encourages children to engage with prayer and supports opportunities for spiritual growth through moments of awe, wonder, reflection and action.
Develop Leadership
As role models within the school, members demonstrate our Christian values of Courage, Friendship, Service, Forgiveness, Justice and Love, encouraging others to make positive choices and contribute to school life.
Be Global Citizens and Courageous Advocates
The Junior Ethos Team helps raise awareness of local, national and global issues. They encourage pupils to speak up for justice, fairness and equality and to consider how they can make a positive difference in God's world.
Support Charities and Community Projects
Throughout the year, the team helps organise fundraising events and charitable initiatives, supporting local, national and international causes. Through these opportunities, pupils put their faith into action through service, compassion and love for others.
Making a Difference
Our Junior Ethos Team ensures that pupil voice remains at the heart of our Christian school. Through worship, prayer, reflection, leadership, courageous advocacy and charitable action, they help our school community live out the vision of “Follow Jesus in all we do” and make a positive difference in the lives of our whole school community and beyond.
